Troubleshooting
Too dim even at full brightness
3 checks, sorted by how often they are the cause. For all WLED controllers with ESP32.
Check in this order: the most common and simplest cause comes first. Usually the cause is found after two or three steps.
Most common cause
Current limit too low? WLED limits to 850 mA out of the box. Under LED Preferences set the maximum current to the power supply's rating.
Current limit too low?
WLED limits to 850 mA out of the box. Under LED Preferences set the maximum current to the power supply's rating.
Current per LED right?
The LED voltage/type choice (e.g. “5V default 55 mA”) drives the estimate. Pick the matching value for 12/24 V strips.
Segment or preset brightness?
Segments have their own brightness. Check whether a segment or preset is dimmed.
Safety
Disconnect the PSU from mains before working on cables. Work on the 230 V side only by a qualified electrician.
